Acromegaly is a disease that consequences from excess increase hormone (GH) after the boom plates have closed. The preliminary symptom is typically expansion of the hands and feet. There may also be growth of the forehead, jaw, and nose. Other signs and symptoms may encompass joint pain, thicker skin, deepening of the voice, headaches, and troubles with vision. Complications of the disorder may include type 2 diabetes, sleep apnoea, and excessive blood pressure. Acromegaly is typically due to the pituitary gland producing too much growth hormone. In greater than 95% of cases the excess production is due to a benign tumour, known as a pituitary adenoma. Symptoms may encompass Enlarged fingers and feet, Coarsened, enlarged facial features, Coarse, oily, thickened pores and skin, Excessive sweating and body odour, Small outgrowths of pores and skin tissue, Fatigue, and muscle weakness.
