Calcaneal Spur
Heel pain is caused by Calcaneal Spurs. Calcaneal Spurs can occur anywhere along the calcaneal tuberosity. Calcaneal Spurs are most commonly found at the insertion of the plantar fascia. A heel spur is a condition, characterized by accumulation and lump formation of thick calcium deposits. Calcaneal Spurs are medically termed as Osteophytes. Calcaneal Spurs are present as prominent bulging at the base of the feet. Calcaneal Spurs can form in various shapes and sizes. Symptoms of Calcaneal Spur may include small, visible bone-like protrusion under the heel, inflammation and swelling, a mild pain in the heel throughout the day, severe pain in the heel when standing up in the morning, tenderness at the bottom of the heel, heat radiating from the affected area.
